When it comes to using low tox products it seems that aluminium free deodorants are what people search for the most. I guess it's because  our deodorant is not something we can afford to not have work well!

When it comes to using low tox products it seems that aluminium free deodorants are what people search for the most. I guess it’s because our deodorant is something we can’t afford to not work well!

Thanks to the media it has become well known that Aluminium free deodorants are what we should all now be looking to buy. This is due to the fact that Aluminium works by blocking our sweat glands and is toxic for our body.

There are actually heaps of aluminium free deodorants on the market but not many of them are actually effective at keeping us fresh. I have a cupboard full of roll on’s and sprays that I have used once or twice before deeming them useless ( I can’t bring myself to throw a whole bottle of something away even if I have no intention of using it again, it just seems wrong, anyone else do this!?) Anyway, I have finally managed to find a couple that I love and will now stick to so wanted to share these with you.

The first is the one I am currently using and am on my 3rd pot of so definitely my favourite! I gave this one a go due to my second favourite being out of stock and from having heard good reviews of it. It has an awesome name – No Pong – and is Australian made.  Available with or without Bi- Carb No Pong is 100% paraben, aluminium, cruelty and plastic free. It is in the form of a paste. I was a little unsure about this at first but you apply all other creams and moisturisers with your fingers so why not this?! No Pong comes in a little tin which is ideal for carrying around in your bag (although due to the fact it’s a paste I would avoid letting it get too hot!) or you can use re-use the tin for your jewellery or craft supplies etc!

You can buy No Pong here.

Next up is my second favourite! This is one by Black Chicken Remedies. I love this brand, it’s another Aussie one but is available in the UK (here) and US (here) too. They have lots of different products (including an awesome perfume that is completely unique to you as it responds to your bodies own natural oils – wow!) but their deodorant is my favourite. It’s another paste but again, once you try it then it’s totally fine and like No Pong, they also have a Bi-Carb free deodorant for sensitive skin.

Lucky last is a homemade deodorant. If you have been following my blog for a while you may have seen this before but it’s super easy to make and is so effective that it was worth a second mention. It only uses 3 ingredients that you probably already have and it makes enough to last a couple of months at least! You can get the full recipe here or as a printable version in my Resource Library.

Making your own natural deodorant is super simple and easy. Another benefit I love to making your own natural deodorant is that you can customise the scent to exactly how you like it (or have it unscented if you prefer).

I need to compare your recipe to mine and see what I’m missing! I was really afraid to make my own, but it works well!
