With the endless amount of toys being released throughout the year it can get overwhelming when trying to decide what to get your little one for Christmas. Over the last month or so my 3 have been road testing some toys that have recently been released. Here are some of their favourites:
Pokémon Power Action Pikachu
Pokemon is very popular in our house, especially with my 6 year old. This Pikachu features Action Sensor Technology – when you squeeze his hand not only does his cheeks and tail light up and flash but he also makes some funky sounds! Pikachu also has more than 15 responses that are activated when you squeeze, throw and roll him around. This has meant that my 4 year old gets great enjoyment from throwing him to me, he makes a good game of catch! Another great feature is that he is super soft and due to the fact that all the electronics are tucked right inside he is still really cuddly.
Available from Big W, Kmart, Myer and independent retailers.
Suitable for ages 3 years+
RRP $59
Cabbage Patch Kids Adoptimals Lots of Licks
I never had a Cabbage Patch Kid growing up and my boys aren’t too interested in the dolls. However, they are constantly asking for a pet dog so when I saw this Adoptimal I knew they would love it. It is a soft and cuddly puppy that comes with an ice – cream that he actually licks!! Don’t worry, there is no icky saliva involved, just a cute pink tongue and some licking noises!
Available from Big W, Kmart, Myer and independent retailers.
Suitable for ages 3 years+
RRP $39
Game Over Backpack
Perfect for any gamer! This backpack is an awesome size and easily fits a lunchbox, morning and afternoon tea plus some spare clothes or books. The inside features a divider creating two sections, there is also a pocket on the front and a bottle holder on the side. There are also lots of matching accessories such as a lunchbox and wallet!
Available from Smiggle
Suitable for ages 3 years+
RRP $64.95
Time To Shine Clock
Perfect for the younger ones, this clock actually says out load the time, date and temperature. It has an LED backlit screen plus an alarm function. Available in either glitter or sequins.
Available from Smiggle
RRP: $34.95
Safari Learning Playspace
I was a little unsure about this one to start as we are pretty tight on space in our house and I try to avoid bulky toys. However, after seeing the fun 10 month old Hudson gets from this I’m glad we have it. The Playspace offers the opportunity for your little one to explore sounds, colours, shapes, numbers and music. It is perfect for when Bub is only sitting as the Playspace can be folded down to a lower position and as they get older and more mobile they can explore it upright. Hudson absolutely loves feeding the ball through the hole and watching it slide down the ramp and return to him. As he is getting bigger he is exploring all the different interactions the buttons higher up provide.
Available from Big W, good toy stores and online retailers.
Suitable for ages 6 months+
RRP $99.95
