Unfortunately Marley Spoon is not available in the UK, however if you are interested in a meal delivery service I highly recommend HelloFresh. You can read my review of that here.
I love finding ways to increase convenience in my life and Dinner time is the part of the day I need it most.
Last month I was offered the chance to try Marley Spoon – a meal delivery service. You get a box of fresh ingredients delivered to your door with some recipe cards to easily whip up a delicious meal for you and the family.
You can get the box delivered at a time that suits you most – even the middle of the night. The food is packaged in a way that will keep it fresh if sat outside for a couple of hours.
Inside the box the ingredients will be divided into bags for each meal. You will also receive a recipe card with instructions on how to make the meal and lots of other information such a nutritional info, the utensils you will need, any allergens and general tips.
Something I particularly love about Marley Spoon is their flexibility of being able to choose what meals you would like. You are also able to skip a week if you are perhaps away or out for dinner for a number of evenings.
The meals I received were:
Stir Fried Chicken in Chilli Jam
Braised Beef and Lentils with Sweet Potato Galette.
These were both great as they are similar to what I would normally cook but with a little twist. For example, I had never tried Sweet Potato Galette before but with the help of the simple yet detailed instructions on the recipe card was able to create a new beautiful meal for my family.
Marley Spoon is suitable for the most beginner cook or more advanced cook and they only use fresh, local ingredients. They are also very conscious on using recyclable packaging where they can. You can read more about that on their website.

Lentils and sweet potatoes sound so good! Anything to make life easier – dinner time is so stressful when my husband is out of town and I’m trying to cook dinner. Avoiding the grocery store is definitely worth it!

I feel like this would be super useful for newlyweds just learning how to cook together and figuring out what they do and don’t like!

Sounds like a great idea and to practise cooking. And for 1-2 person especially, minimising food wastage.

This sounds great! I have always wanted to try these pre prepared meals. Are the ingredients really fresh like they say?

I have never heard of Marley Spoon. Not sure if we have that in US, but there is a similar company called Blue Apron that I have been really interested in trying. I am just really concerned with the quality of the food.

I have never heard of or tried Marley Spoon, but it sounds like a great idea! Seems like it would be a nice, convenient service to help busy singles, college students, or families to have healthy meals more easily.
