Preparing Your Child For Primary School

With Flinn due to start primary school in just a few weeks I have been searching the internet for tips on preparing your child for primary school. Flinn can be hard to read; he says he is not worried about starting and is looking forward to it but he has also been acting out a lot lately and I wonder if deep down he is really quite anxious.

As well as putting together some tips I have found myself I thought I would also ask some other blogger Mum’s and see what their top tips were.

The Art of Simplifying: How to Enjoy Life With Less.

There’s no denying that we live in a fast-paced, whirlwind society. We want everything immediately; from food to friends to entertainment, we want the latest and the greatest, and we want it now. But rather than making us happier, all to often this lifestyle can make us feel like we’re running on a treadmill that is getting progressively faster. Just like the cladding fire disasters in the building industry, we take short-cuts, looking for a cheap alternative that creates the image we are wanting to present to the world and it could cost us big time. Life is rushing past us at such a fast rate that we barely remember each day, let alone take time to enjoy it! But it doesn’t have to be this way.

Tips For Picky Eating. Getting Them To Eat The One …

Picky eating is a common phase most toddlers and kids go through in early childhood. Children at these ages are beginning to try a wide range of new foods, and their appetites generally decrease as their growth rate drops after infancy.

This is also the time at which children start having their own preferences, and these can be wildly unpredictable. Some kids won’t eat anything except for one or two favorite foods, while others will ask for certain items and then lose interest.

If you’re having trouble getting your child to eat a specific food, you should know that this is considered normal behavior at this stage of their development. Yumble suggests these reliable tips to help them try new foods—even the ones they currently don’t want.

How I get my kids to sleep quickly (and sleep …

Trying to get the kids to sleep quickly is a battle I seem to fight every night! With 3 boys, bedtime usually starts around 6:45 and I get back downstairs around 8:15. I then spend the next hour trying to convince Flinn my 4-year-old, to stay in bed and marching him back upstairs after he has appeared with something really important to tell me that he hasn’t even thought of yet!

When Should You Use Sunscreen On A Baby?

Using sunscreen on a baby is an area of parenting that’s a little tricky to navigate. In the first place, is your baby old enough for sunscreen? Then there’s the issue of which sort of cream to choose. And how on earth do you get enough of it on a wriggling baby?
