While sitting down writing this post today I am munching on the Banana, Coconut and Date flavoured Oat bar from Bake Me Snacks.
Ok, so they have been specifically designed for Kids but sometimes the kids stuff is the best right?

Since having kids I have been a lot more conscious of what they are putting in their little tummies and the amount of junk that is in so much of the packaged and convenient foods. It has become clear that to ensure I know exactly what they are consuming I need to be making as much of their food as possible from scratch. I don’t mind spending a bit of time in the kitchen baking up something delicious but I admit that I get fed up in there very quickly. I seem to go through phases of spending every weekend making masses of food to batch freeze to trying to stay as far away from the kitchen as possible. It is in these less productive weeks that the grocery bill sky rockets as it’s full of convenient (full of crap) foods.
Luckily for me this is an issue that seems to be solved!
The beautiful Sally from Bake Me Snacks has created some delicious bake at home mixes that make serving up healthy snacks so super quick, simple and easy!
All the mixes are made from organic ingredients and contain no added sugar. All except one is free of nuts (so perfect for school lunchboxes) and depending on how you make them a couple of them can either be egg free and/ or dairy free. (To find out more of exactly what is or isn’t in the mixes click here.)
Sally was kind enough to send me the Banana, Coconut & Date and the Berry, Oat & Chia bars. All that I needed to add to the mixes were some banana, some milk and for the Berry, Oat and Chia flavour and egg as well. I honestly reckon it took me under 5 minutes from opening the pack to getting the mix into the oven.
I have made my fair share of oat bars from scratch where you have to source awkward amounts of a variety of fruit and nuts, mix them together with other obscure ingredients only for the kids to eat just half of them before they get thrown away. However with these you can quickly whip some up before school and they make just the right amount to last a couple of days (although they are also suitable for freezing!).
Bake Me Snacks are available in 5 different flavours:
- Apple, Coconut & Almond
- Banana, Date & Coconut
- Berry, Oat & Chia
- Muesli & Yoghurt
- Cherry, Coconut & Cacao
Or can be purchased in packs of 3 or 4.
Sally has been kind enough to offer all Imperfect Mummy readers a 20% discount off anything from the Bake Me Snacks website, just use code “IMPERFECT” at checkout.
